Thirty-three-year-old Sebastian Radić from Rovinj suffered a severe traffic accident on July 18, 2026, in which he lost his right lower leg. His friends have not abandoned him even in the toughest moments, and these days they have launched a humanitarian campaign called "Let's Help Sebastian Stand on His Feet Again," aiming to raise 73,000 euros.
The accident occurred when Sebastian lost control of his motorcycle in a curve and crashed into a stone wall. In the critical moments, his life was saved by the quick intervention of a doctor who happened to be driving behind him; she used a belt as a tourniquet to stop the heavy bleeding. He was airlifted to Sušak, where he underwent emergency surgery.
Months of Struggle and Adjusting to a New Life
Sebastian is still undergoing treatment at the Clinical Hospital Center Rijeka. He attends daily hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions to promote optimal wound healing. Ahead of him are long months of physical and psychological rehabilitation and adjustment to a completely new way of life.
Realizing that recovery requires significant financial resources beyond the family's means, his friends decided to take action. "Sebo lost his leg, but he hasn't lost his smile. Let's do this together!" they said in their campaign, which has covered Rovinj with posters featuring a QR code for donations.
Water Polo Tournament as a First Step
As a sign of support and a first concrete contribution, a water polo tournament was held in Rovinj these days. During the gathering and the match, 925 euros were raised. Participants also sent a group photo with a large banner featuring Sebastian's picture, sending a powerful message of solidarity.
Fundraising continues through the platform, and his friends are not losing hope. "Every donation, no matter the amount, is a step closer to his return to the life he deserves," the campaign organizers emphasize, showing what unconditional friendship means in the most challenging life circumstances.
