Traffic Accident on A3 near Novska, Queues on DC1 and DC8

The Croatian Automobile Club warns of a speed limit of 80 km/h on the A3 motorway between the Novska and Lipovljani interchanges, with delays also on other roads across Croatia.

The Croatian Automobile Club (HAK) reported in its road conditions update for August 19, 2026, a traffic accident on the A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway, between the Novska and Lipovljani interchanges, at location 127+000 km towards Bregana. Due to the accident, traffic is moving at a reduced speed limit of 80 km/h.

Roadworks and Delays on A3

On the same motorway, between the Sveta Nedelja and Lučko interchanges, intermittent delays are occurring in the roadworks zone in both directions. Additionally, until September 1, 2026, drainage rehabilitation is underway on the section between the Popovača and Kutina interchanges towards Lipovac, from 90+700 to 93+800 km. In this area, traffic flows through two narrowed lanes, and during heavier traffic, especially on Fridays, congestion and vehicle queues may occur.

Furthermore, until October 3, 2026, due to roadworks on the section between the Sveta Nedelja and Zagreb zapad interchanges, from 12 km + 480 to 15 km + 300, the carriageway towards Lipovac will be closed. Traffic will be diverted in both directions, using the carriageway leading towards Bregana, with two narrowed lanes in each direction. Delays and queues are possible, especially during morning and afternoon hours, as well as throughout the day on weekends.

Other Roads with Difficulties

On the A4 Goričan-Zagreb motorway, between the Popovec and Zagreb istok interchanges towards Zagreb, traffic is moving slowly. On state road DC1 between Gračac and Knin, in the roadworks zone near Otrić, delays are occurring. On DC8 (Adriatic Highway), due to a traffic accident in the Ratac area, traffic is alternating in one lane, with queues also on the approaches to Split.

On the A2 Zagreb-Macelj motorway, on two sections, traffic is restricted to the driving lane: from 17+500 to 13+750 km towards Macelj (Krapina, Đurmanec section) and from 6+700 to 8+200 km towards Zagreb (Trakošćan, Đurmanec section).

Forecast for August 20

According to HAK's traffic forecast for August 20, 2026, increased traffic is expected on city roads and bypasses, as well as on certain motorway sections, especially during morning and afternoon hours. In the northern Adriatic and Gorski Kotar, road surfaces will be wet and slippery in some places.

Delays can be expected on the Zagreb bypass (A3) and Rijeka bypass (A7), on the A4 motorway between the Popovec and Zagreb istok interchanges, on the Istrian Y (A8) between the Učka interchange and tunnel, on some parts of state road DC1, and on the Adriatic Highway (DC8) on approaches to tourist destinations.

At certain border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Montenegro, there will be waiting times for passenger and freight vehicles. No problems are anticipated in maritime traffic.
