Several extraordinary events were recorded on Croatian roads today that are making traffic difficult, and the Croatian Automobile Club (HAK) calls on drivers to exercise increased caution and maintain a safe following distance. A traffic accident occurred on state road DC1 in the town of Podosoje, where traffic is moving with difficulty under temporary traffic regulation.
Another traffic accident was recorded on the Adriatic Highway (DC8) in Brodarica near Šibenik. There, traffic is moving in only one lane, with a speed limit of 40 km/h and police regulation. A third accident occurred on state road DC58 Šibenik-Plano in the town of Plano, where traffic is also moving with difficulty under temporary traffic regulation.
HAK also warns of the risk of collision with an object on the A2 Zagreb-Macelj highway at the 55th kilometer, between the Zagreb zapad and Zaprešić exits, in the direction of Krapina. A similar hazard was reported on the A1 Zagreb-Split-Dubrovnik highway at the 295.+500 kilometer between the Benkovac and Vodice interchanges in the direction of Dubrovnik, where traffic is moving in one lane with a speed limit of 80 km/h.
On the A2 Zagreb-Macelj highway, traffic is moving only in the driving lane on two sections: from 17.+500 to 13.+750 km in the direction of Macelj (section Krapina, Đurmanec) and from 6.+700 to 8.+200 km in the direction of Zagreb (section Trakošćan, Đurmanec).
On the A3 Bregana-Lipovac highway, roadworks will last until September 1, 2026, due to the repair of the drainage system on the section from the Popovača interchange to the Kutina interchange in the direction of Lipovac (from 90.+700 to 93.+800 km). Traffic there is moving through two narrowed lanes, and with increased traffic intensity, delays and queues are possible, especially on Fridays.
In addition, until October 3, 2026, due to roadworks between the Sveta Nedelja and Zagreb zapad interchanges (from 12. km + 480 to 15. km + 300), the carriageway in the direction of Lipovac will be closed. Driving will be two-way, using the carriageway in the direction of Bregana, with two narrowed lanes in each direction. Delays and queues are possible, especially in the morning and afternoon hours, as well as throughout the day on weekends.
Due to the bura wind on the Adriatic, restrictions are possible for certain types of vehicles, especially on parts of the Adriatic Highway in the Podvelebit area. During the morning and afternoon, due to heavy traffic, driving will be slower on city roads and bypasses.
Delays and queues are expected, especially on the Zagreb (A3) and Rijeka (A7) bypasses, on the A2 Zagreb-Macelj highway at the Zagreb zapad interchange, and on the A3 Bregana-Lipovac highway between the Sveta Nedelja and Zagreb zapad interchanges. Increased traffic is also expected on roads leading to the coast, and occasional delays are possible in tunnel areas, rest areas, toll booths, and on approaches to tourist destinations.
