As of July 31, 2026, Pula Airport had handled 301,792 passengers, confirming a recovery and growth in traffic after a quieter start to the year. Brits and Germans Lead, Danish and Serbian Markets Also Grow

Compared to the same period last year, the number of passengers from the United Kingdom increased by over 10,400, while Germany saw 8,300 more passengers. Significant growth was also recorded in the Danish market, with an increase of 2,082 passengers, and the Serbian market, with 2,346 more passengers than the previous year. According to the airport's management, these figures demonstrate Istria's growing connectivity with the rest of the world and underscore the need to expand into more markets.

Later Start to Spring Flights, but Summer Brought a Turnaround

This year's season had a slightly different dynamic. April and May saw a reduced number of flights, as some carriers began operations later than in the same period last year. A positive trend began in June and continued through July, when traffic traditionally enters the most intense part of the tourist season.

"This year's season has its own specific dynamics. April and May were marked by a later start of operations for some airlines, but since June we have recorded continuous growth that continued through July. Our activities with airlines and the tourism sector are yielding results," said Nina Vojnić Žagar, Director of Pula Airport.

Focus on Long-Term Development and New Markets

During the summer flight schedule, Pula is connected to numerous European destinations, with the highest traffic intensity expected precisely in July and August. The results of these two months will have a decisive impact on the overall annual figures. Pula Airport emphasizes that their focus is not only on monthly or seasonal results but on continuously strengthening competitiveness, developing new markets, and improving Istria's international connectivity, which is the foundation for the advancement of tourism and the economy in the region.
