Music lovers in Dubrovnik have another chance to secure their spot at two exceptional events. Due to overwhelming public interest, 100 additional standing-room tickets have been released on Saturday, August 8, 2026, for the concert by the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra (DSO) and the performance by the Philharmonix ensemble.
Both concerts will take place in the unique setting of the Rector's Palace atrium, starting at 9:30 PM. The number of new tickets is limited, and the organizers urge all interested parties to secure theirs in time so as not to miss being part of these musical evenings.
Symphony Orchestra under the Baton of Christian Vasquez
The first concert is scheduled for Monday, August 10, 2026, when the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra will perform under the direction of conductor Christian Vasquez. They will be joined by soloists violinists Dunja Bontek, Mirabai Weismehl Rosenfeld, and Eva Šulić Brajčić, with Branimir Pustički on cello.
The Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra boasts a long musical tradition dating back to the era of the Republic of Ragusa (1358-1808), and in 2025 it celebrated its centennial anniversary. As an important part of Dubrovnik's and Croatia's rich cultural heritage, the orchestra regularly performs in the unique venues of its city, from the Rector's Palace atrium to city churches and squares. For its artistic contribution, it was awarded the prestigious Grand Prix Orlando in 2020.
Philharmonix: Virtuosos from Vienna and Berlin
Three days later, on Thursday, August 13, 2026, the Philharmonix ensemble, also known as The Vienna Berlin Music Club, will perform at the same venue. This unique ensemble consists exclusively of members of two of the world's most prestigious orchestras, the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonics, and their first violinist is also the concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic.
Philharmonix delighted festival audiences in the Rector's Palace atrium last year. Their performances skillfully blend classical, jazz, pop, and swing, pushing genre boundaries and winning the hearts of all generations. They have also been recognized by the prestigious record label Deutsche Grammophon, and their infectious energy and top-tier artistry guarantee an unforgettable musical experience.
