Hundreds Injured and Thousands of Structures Damaged
According to data published by the Jakarta Globe, 1,182 people were injured in the earthquake, and the disaster affected 16,400 families across three provinces. In the affected areas, 11,925 homes, 663 educational institutions, 184 government buildings, 182 health facilities, and 173 places of worship were damaged. Dozens of other infrastructure facilities, including roads and bridges, were also damaged.
Rescue services continue to search for the missing, and electricity supply in the affected areas has been almost fully restored.
Authorities Send 253 Tons of Aid
Indonesian Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya told the Antara news agency that authorities have sent a total of 253 metric tons of aid to residents of the affected province. Food, ready-to-eat meals, water, medicines, medical equipment, tents, and other essential supplies for displaced persons have been delivered to the region.
