The Royal Club offered €100 million for RB Leipzig's 19-year-old winger, but Leipzig refuses. At the same time, according to Fabrizio Romano, Real is also pursuing Rodri from Manchester City.
Real Madrid is not resting this summer. According to The Athletic and Fabrizio Romano, the club from the Bernabéu is working on two major deals: bringing in Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig and Rodri from Manchester City. Although both transfers are still in the early stages, it's clear that Madrid has no plans to stop after already securing the services of Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konaté, Denzel Dumfries, and Marc Cucurella.
Real has offered €90 million fixed, plus another €10 million in bonuses, for the 19-year-old Ivory Coast international. However, Leipzig has rejected that offer. The German club is asking for around €130 million for their gem, and they have previously turned down Liverpool, who offered nearly €100 million. PSG is also monitoring the situation, but their bid has so far not satisfied Leipzig's management.
RB Leipzig's sporting director, Marcel Schäfer, made it clear:
"Our clear intention is for Yan Diomande to play for RB Leipzig next season as well."The club is simultaneously working on extending the player's contract, although the current one runs until 2030. The Athletic reports that Diomande reportedly preferred Paris, but Real's entry into the race has added extra competition.
Last season, Diomande played 33 Bundesliga matches, scoring 12 goals and providing nine assists. He missed only one match due to the Africa Cup of Nations. Leipzig finished third and secured a Champions League spot. At the World Cup, he played all four matches for Ivory Coast, which was eliminated in the round of 16 by Norway. He arrived in Leipzig a year ago from Spanish side Leganés.
If the transfer goes through for the requested €130 million, Diomande would become the most expensive player in RB Leipzig's history. This would surpass Joško Gvardiol, who moved to Manchester City in 2023 for €90 million, and Benjamin Šeško, who joined Manchester United for €76.5 million plus bonuses. Real is looking for a right winger, especially if Brahim Díaz leaves the club, according to The Athletic.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid has also made a move for Rodri, the best player of the last World Cup. Rodri wants to leave Manchester City and join Real, and the Madrid side would need to shell out close to €60 million for him. No agreement has been reached yet, but the interest is confirmed.
Croatian midfielder Robert Ljubičić has signed for Austrian side LASK. The 27-year-old arrives on loan from AEK with an option to buy. Transfermarkt values him at €3 million. Crysencio Summerville (24) left West Ham to join Al Hilal for €70 million, after 56 appearances and eight goals.
