The 10th Antonio Jurjević Memorial Humanitarian Tournament kicks off tonight at 7 PM on the outdoor futsal courts of the Višnjik Sports Center in Zadar. The jubilee edition brings an absolute record in the number of registered teams, further cementing the event's status as one of the largest and most emotional tournaments in Dalmatia.

Three categories and as many as 147 teams

A total of 147 teams have registered, competing over nearly three weeks for prestigious titles. The tournament is played in three categories. The senior competition is the most numerous with 109 registered teams, while the veteran section features 25 teams. The youth part of the tournament has gathered 16 football schools from Zadar County.

Senior matches are played in a 4+1 format according to futsal rules. Veterans, who were eligible to register if born in 1988 or earlier, play in a 5+1 format. All matches will be played almost daily starting at 7 PM, until the finals on August 29, 2026.

Humanity at the forefront

Beyond the sporting competition, the tournament traditionally carries a strong humanitarian note. All funds raised from registration fees will be donated to purchase a communication device for Filip Galac. The remaining donations collected over the next year will be directed to children in need in Zadar County.

The Antonio Jurjević Humanitarian Association has appealed to all participants to adhere to fair play and sportsmanship. They emphasized that any unsportsmanlike behavior, which has no place at such an event, will be immediately sanctioned with the harshest penalty, disqualification of teams from further competition.

First day schedule

The tournament opens with the hosts, the team of the Antonio Jurjević Humanitarian Association, who will face Atlantic Trade on Court A. Following on the same court are matches: KK Diadora Zadar vs. MNK Sukošan (7:45 PM), MNK Lukoran vs. MNK Kontrol biro Teatro bar (8:30 PM), MNK Gorica vs. Sportski Centar "Torba" Debeljak (9:15 PM), Gajata vs. Piramida (10:00 PM), and CB Loyd vs. Coma (10:45 PM).

On Court B, starting at 7:45 PM, MNK Azine will face the youth association "Santa-Fe". Following them are Avia cars vs. Lovinac (8:30 PM), Arbanasi vs. MNK Roma (9:15 PM), Autoservis Maki vs. Bakmaz (10:00 PM), and Kumovi vs. CB Špada (10:45 PM).
