Sir Rod Stewart has canceled all remaining dates of his American tour. The news was announced on August 12, 2026, due to a medical procedure the singer recently underwent, the placement of a coronary stent.
Stewart addressed his fans via Instagram, where he shared his current condition and his regret over the situation.
"I'm already feeling better and I'm on the road to recovery. I want to thank the doctors, nurses, and everyone who took such wonderful care of me," Stewart wrote.
In the rest of the message, he directly addressed the audience that was eagerly awaiting him. "I'm deeply disappointed to have to miss these shows and I'm sorry for letting my fans down, but I look forward to getting back on stage and being with all of you again soon," he said.
Although he is recovering well, the medical advice was clear. Representatives of the famous singer released an official statement stating that Stewart is "feeling very well" and has "returned to his normal daily activities." However, they emphasized that the break is unavoidable.
"On doctors' advice, he will take the next four weeks to recover and get back to full form before returning to the stage. Unfortunately, this means he will not be able to continue with the current tour dates. Information about the shows will be communicated by the respective promoters and venues," the statement from his representatives read.
This operation is just the latest in a series of health challenges that have marked Stewart's current tour. The problems began earlier this year. In May 2026, he canceled shows in Nevada due to sinusitis, and doctors ordered strict vocal rest at that time.
Shortly after, in June, during a concert in Utah, he had to use an oxygen tank on stage. The same month, a show in San Diego was canceled due to a respiratory infection that led to laryngitis. Earlier in the tour, concerts in Cincinnati and Cleveland were postponed, citing an "unforeseen but minor medical procedure that required immediate attention."
Stewart's medical history includes much more serious diagnoses. In 2000, he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, which he successfully overcame through surgery. Sixteen years later, in 2016, he faced prostate cancer. After a three-year battle, he announced he was completely cured. His openness about these battles has helped raise awareness about the importance of regular check-ups.
