Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez married on August 11, 2026, at their new summer villa in Quinta da Marinha, near Cascais, Portugal. The couple shared details of the ceremony a few days later in an exclusive interview with Vogue, which also featured the first wedding photos.
The choice of date was no coincidence: on August 11, 2016, Ronaldo first met Georgina at the Gucci store in Madrid, where she worked as a sales assistant. The proposal came exactly one year before the wedding, on August 11, 2025, on their special day.
They chose the living room of their new home for the vows. "We chose to do it in the living room of our house, where we have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and where we live the reality of our lives. In 30 years, I want our children to think: something beautiful happened at this table: our parents' wedding vows," Georgina told Vogue.
Georgina, who was 32 at the time of the wedding, revealed how her dreams have changed. "When I was a child, I dreamed of the biggest castle, the largest carriage, the longest dress, a crown full of diamonds. And now I say: no. I want something intimate, with my partner and our children, at home. Because castles, houses, islands, horses, and cars are within our reach every day. But something intimate, that is more unusual for us."
The wedding attire was designed by Gucci: for Georgina, a white silk ensemble, and for Ronaldo, a light beige cotton suit. Official photos were taken by fashion photographer Juergen Teller. "His photos are art. I didn't want the usual boring family album. I wanted something artistic that would last forever," Georgina explained.
The ceremony was emotional. "It was exactly as I imagined. Intimate, full of love, with our family in the most important role. I couldn't hold back my tears," Georgina admitted.
After the wedding, the couple, along with their five children, visited Fatima, about a two-hour drive from Cascais, where they privately toured the Chapel of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary. Georgina described a feeling of "peace and energy that is very hard to describe. I didn't need anything else: my husband, my children, our home, our faith, and our love."
The family has already returned to Saudi Arabia due to Ronaldo's commitments with Al-Nassr, and the honeymoon and a grand celebration with relatives and friends have been postponed. "In the future, we will have a big wedding, so we can celebrate with family and friends," the couple said.
When asked about expanding the family, Ronaldo replied briefly: "Never say never." Georgina added: "Another child now would be too crowded at home. But when the youngest are 15 or 16 and we're still young, why not? The truth is, I can't imagine myself without small children, so we'll see."
The new residence in Quinta da Marinha, which took seven years to build, was officially taken over in July 2026.
