Divers Cleaned the Seabed of Vela Luka After the 'Trag u beskraju' Concert

The 'Trag u beskraju' event, dedicated to Oliver Dragojević, once again resonated with a powerful ecological message this year, in addition to music. After the concert on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, on the pontoon in front of the Vela Luka waterfront drew over 25,000 people, a seabed cleanup action followed two days later, completing the story of love for the sea.
On Friday, July 31, 2026, divers dove into the Vela Luka bay to remove waste left after the grand celebration. The action, named 'Ka i uvik gledam more', was organized under the auspices of the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund and carried out by members of the diving club KPA Vodomar from Duga Resa.
The goal was not only to clean the coast and seabed but also to send a clear message about responsibility towards the Adriatic. "Clean sea is not only our greatest natural treasure but also a responsibility for all of us," said Anamarija Brstilo, a representative of the Fund, as reported by Index.hr Magazine. "We do not want our 'trag u beskraju' to be plastic, tires, and other waste."
Brstilo highlighted the Fund's continuous support for such projects. According to her, the Fund has secured around one million euros this year for more than 60 projects by associations, with as much as a third dedicated specifically to diving seabed cleanup actions. She also announced continued funding in the fall and invited all associations involved in environmental protection and education to follow their calls.
The Mayor of Vela Luka Municipality, Katarina Gugić, thanked all participants and emphasized the special significance of the action within the event. "Such initiatives remind us how important it is to preserve our sea and natural heritage for future generations," said Gugić, adding that she is particularly pleased that through ecological activities, the values that Oliver lived and loved are promoted, respect for the sea, nature, and community.
Valuable logistical support was also provided by the staff of the Vela Luka communal services, whose work ensured that the town shone in full glory in the early morning hours after the concert, just as it had been before the arrival of thousands of visitors.
