Situation in Kyiv

Zelensky: "More pressure is needed"

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky strongly condemned the attack, emphasizing that the target was an ordinary residential house. "The Russians could not have failed to know that this was an ordinary residential home," Zelensky wrote on his Telegram channel. In his statement, he stressed the need for increased international pressure on Moscow.

"Europe, America, and Ukraine have long wanted to stop this Russian war. Only Putin does not want it and clings with all his might to his ballistic missiles and drones to continue fighting. Greater pressure is needed. New sanctions that will make the production of these ballistic missiles impossible. And we definitely need more protection for our people," Zelensky said.

He specifically appealed to allies for the delivery of anti-missile systems, mentioning missiles for Patriot, SAMP/T, NASAMS, and HAWK systems, as well as F-16 fighter jets. "All of this works and helps protect lives when it is here, in Ukraine, rather than somewhere in warehouses, thousands of kilometers away from Russian attacks on life," he added.
