Disney has officially confirmed the release date for Ghost Rider starring Ryan Gosling: July 28, 2028, according to Variety. This will make it the third Marvel film to hit theaters that year, following the untitled X-Men film on May 5, 2028 and Black Panther 3, scheduled for December 15, 2028.
Gosling's casting was announced back in July at Comic-Con, and now it has an official date. The actor takes on the Spirit of Vengeance after Nicholas Cage played the motorcyclist in two films for Sony. The director is Shawn Levy, with a screenplay by Jonathan Tropper, known for his work on "Star Wars: Starfighter".
Other Marvel and Pixar Dates
In addition to Ghost Rider, Disney announced that an untitled Marvel film will arrive on November 9, 2029, previously only listed as an untitled Disney film. Pixar's Ghost Market, inspired by Asian myths about shops where the living and dead meet, will get a theatrical release on March 10, 2028. Instead of the original idea for a streaming series, the film has been moved to theatrical distribution.
Coco 2 is scheduled for November 21, 2029. At the D23 event, fans got their first look at the central character Miguel, now a teenager, with Benjamin Bratt reprising his role as Ernesto de la Cruz. The live-action remake of Tangled arrives on March 31, 2028, while the animated film Clay premieres on November 22, 2028.
Searchlight's Horror Film Monitor Also Moved
Among the new dates is Searchlight's horror film Monitor, originally scheduled for April 30, 2027, now moved to April 16, 2027. Directors Matt Black and Ryan Polly helm the story about a demonic entity that haunts internet forum moderators.
All these dates were announced after the D23 fan event held last weekend, with Variety first reporting the full schedule. For Croatian Marvel and Pixar fans, this means a clear calendar of blockbusters for 2028 and 2029.
