Samsung is preparing a new version of its One UI 9.5 user interface, and according to screenshots and videos that have surfaced on platform X, users can expect noticeably smoother animations and numerous visual changes. The posts were shared on August 16, 2026, by user Fahad Ali Javed and were reported by Bug.hr.
Javed particularly highlighted the improved app opening and closing animations, which should be significantly smoother than those on current One UI versions. In his post on X, he wrote: "Usually couldn't care less about app opening/closing benchmarks, but One UI 9.5 is an absolute joy to use. The animations all across the UI are ridiculously smooth (By Samsung's Standards). 🤌🔥 And this is only the second internal build... PS. This is all ootb, HOMEUP isnt..."
This comment suggests that the animations are smooth even without additional tweaks, which is a significant step forward for Samsung's interface. Javed also noted that this is only the second internal build, leaving room for further improvements before the final release.
In the camera app, Samsung has refined the curvature of menu elements and the spacing between them, while pop-ups now have more subtle background blur. Icon scaling has also been improved to make the entire interface look more consistent. In his post about the camera, Javed stated: "One UI 9.5 internal build CZH9 on S26 Base camera animations: • Native 24MP toggle directly on the base model. • New spring physics on sub-menu expansions and tooltip pop-ins"
Additionally, the fingerprint registration interface has been redesigned with a more modern look and visual refinements.
One UI 9.5 is also expected to bring new options for Finder and Google's search bar on the home screen to older Samsung devices. These features were first introduced on the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra, and Flip 8, which run One UI 9.0.
Samsung is also working on simplifying the connection between Galaxy phone screens and computers. According to currently known information, using this option will likely require a Samsung Galaxy Book.
One UI 9.5 is expected to be officially launched early next year, alongside the Galaxy S27 series. There is still plenty of time for further changes until then, so the features shown in the current footage may not necessarily make it to the final version in the same form.
