Šime Elez, who became known to the public through the show 'Mr. Perfect', has spoken in more detail for the first time about the end of his relationship with Maja Šuput. The popular singer announced in early summer 2026 that their year-long love had come to an end.
In an interview with Story, Elez revealed how he coped with the end of a relationship that the public often labeled a PR stunt. "You fill your days with activities, work, you devote yourself to yourself or something new that you focus on, and you just keep pushing forward," he said, adding that "life doesn't belong to the past."
Although the two are no longer in contact, Elez emphasizes that there is no room for negative emotions. "What remains is mutual respect, a 'good luck' with everything that still awaits you in life, and a fond memory of everything we went through together. We're both mature enough to part ways without bitterness," he stated.
Contrary to the popular trend of deleting shared photos from social media after a breakup, Elez has decided to keep all posts featuring the singer. He explained that they mark a chapter of his life that will forever be a part of him.
"That period is like any other; I can't erase it, nor do I feel the need to, and pretend it never existed," he said.
Although he has been linked to other women since the breakup, Elez claims these are all false alarms. However, the interest from the female audience shows no signs of waning; in fact, he receives more messages and requests to meet than before.
What has particularly surprised him is the change in the age demographic of those reaching out. "What's more interesting, though, is the shift in the age structure of the audience. Apparently, with my last relationship, I opened Pandora's box; I have no other way to explain it," Elez concluded.
