World No. 1 tennis player Jannik Sinner underwent a detailed medical examination in Milan this morning ahead of his departure for the American tour. Although Italian media report this was a routine check-up, the clinic visit drew extra attention due to Sinner's upcoming return to hard courts.
As reported by Index.hr, citing Gazzetta dello Sport, Sinner arrived at the renowned Physioclinic physiotherapy center at 8 a.m. The four-hour examination was conducted by Dr. Volpi, who previously served as the team doctor for Inter Milan. The world's top tennis player was accompanied by four members of his team.
The Italian tennis player left the clinic with a smile and gave out several autographs to fans waiting outside. This outcome suggests there is no cause for alarm, and his plans for the rest of the season remain unchanged.
It is believed that today's examination is linked to minor discomfort in his right knee. While at the J Medical center in Turin last week, Sinner was spotted with a bandage on that same knee. There is currently no suspicion of a serious injury; such check-ups are preventive and help address common minor strains in elite athletes in a timely manner.
Sinner is known for his exceptional dedication to body care. Over the past months, he has also undergone detailed check-ups in Monte Carlo, his residence. Given the high number of matches at the highest level, managing recovery and minor injuries has become an essential part of his preparation.
According to information from Index.hr, Sinner is expected to travel to the United States on Sunday, August 9, 2026. His first appearance on the American tour will be at the Masters 1000 tournament in Cincinnati, followed by the US Open.
After his Wimbledon victory, the world No. 1 is gearing up for a return to hard courts, where he has achieved great results in recent years.
