Polish scout and analyst Kulig, whose social media profiles are followed by nearly half a million people, has singled out a new young Hajduk player as a major prospect. His attention was drawn to 18-year-old David Nachbar, whom he particularly praised following his performances at the international Mladen Ramljak tournament.
Kulig, who has been running the specialized Football Talent Scout project for years to track young prospects from around the world, shared his enthusiasm on his profiles about Nachbar's adaptation to his new position. "David Nachbar impressed me at the Mladen Ramljak tournament. It seems that the 18-year-old Hajduk talent has greatly benefited from the switch from midfield to full-back. It will be extremely interesting to follow his further development," wrote Kulig.
Nachbar was born in 2008 and holds Austrian citizenship. In the past, he played for the Austrian U-16 national team, and he joined Hajduk from Austrian football. Originally developed as a midfielder, his successful adaptation to the full-back position has particularly impressed the experienced scout.
He took his first football steps at SAK Klagenfurt, where he was coached by his father Vladimir, himself a former footballer. After that, he played for Wolfsberger, and then spent two years in the academy of Sturm Graz. In September 2024, at just 16 years old, he made the decision to move to Hajduk, which was then presented as an investment in the long-term development of a young midfielder, with a gradual path to senior football. Last season, he made 28 appearances for the Split club's youth team, scoring three goals.
Nachbar was part of Hajduk's starting lineup in the third-place match against Benfica. After a 1:1 draw in regular time, the Split club won 8:7 on penalties and secured the bronze medal at an exceptionally strong tournament. Dinamo lost 2:1 to Ajax in the final, with the Dutch giants winning the tournament in their debut appearance, while Croatian clubs took two of the top three spots.
The praise from the Polish analyst carries significant weight in the world of football talents. As early as 2023, his social media profiles had nearly half a million followers combined. Among the young players he previously highlighted was then-Hajduk talent Luka Vušković. Nachbar has now clearly become another young Hajduk player to end up in Kulig's notebook.
