Truck driver Romeo shared how with a monthly salary of 1,500 euros he supports a family of five and educates three children, but cannot afford a holiday, even though he lives in a country with a sea. His confession prompted listeners to organize an entire vacation in just a few minutes, reports Index.hr Magazine.
Immediately after Romeo shared his story, listener Toni from Korčula called in and offered his family free accommodation in an apartment. However, another listener, also named Toni, noted that accommodation wasn't the only expense, the family still had to get to the island and cover food and other supplies.
Then Zoran from Dubrovnik joined the broadcast, deciding to cover all fuel costs, while listener Igor took on the ferry expenses. The show hosts enthusiastically concluded: "We have a ferry, we have fuel, we have an apartment. Now all we need is Romeo."
Romeo's story touched many listeners and demonstrated how a community can react quickly. Although a holiday on the Croatian coast is out of reach for many, the solidarity of strangers turned the impossible into reality.
