Local portal Šibenik.in published on Tuesday a video showing the beginning of an alleged attack by Torcida members on young Šibenik fans, known as Funcuti. According to information from the local portal, a larger group of Torcida supporters attacked a significantly smaller group of young fans in a café in the Mandalina neighborhood of Šibenik.
A reader of Šibenik.in reported to the newsroom that around 40 hooligans attacked six young men who were sitting in a café in Mandalina. The video shows a larger group of young men entering the park, after which the footage cuts off. It is alleged that someone tipped off the Torcida members about where the young men were sitting, but no other details about the alleged attack are available.
The reader who sent the video warned about the escalation of violence. "I hope you will address the security situation in our city, which is escalating every day. The conflicts between Funcuti and Torcida will soon cost someone their life. And I'm not talking about adults, but about children," the portal quoted his message.
He also added an appeal: "We hope the police will react. At least you, as the media, try to protect our children." The same reader stated in his message: "Our children were sitting in a café in Mandalina."
