Čakovec is on the verge of giving its most important sports and recreation center a completely new look. The southern part of SRC Mladost, the area next to the Marija Ružić City Pools, will soon become a modern zone for sports, recreation, and socializing, significantly enhancing the quality of public space for all citizens.

This is an ambitious project called "ITU, Revitalization of Zone 3 for Active Living," with an estimated value of nearly €2.5 million. Work has already entered the concrete implementation phase and is progressing according to the planned schedule.

A Promenade Connecting Facilities and an Amphitheater for Events

The project brings a range of new facilities that will reshape this part of the city. The centerpiece will be an amphitheater with a stage, designed as a space for concerts, movie screenings, and various public events. A new promenade will connect numerous recreational and themed facilities, including an outdoor gym, a large children's playground, a dog park, picnic areas, a yoga park, an aromatic garden, and even a sledding hill.

In addition to entertainment and sports facilities, significant attention is also being paid to infrastructure. As part of the project, a new parking lot with 165 parking spaces, internal roads, and canopies equipped with a solar power plant are being built. The entire area will be fitted with smart and sustainable solutions such as solar trees, solar benches, info totems, and solar lighting.

Mayor: "The Project Brings New Energy to Citizens of All Generations"

The Mayor of Čakovec, Ljerka Cividini, visited the site with her associates and highlighted the importance of this investment. "A completely new sports and recreation park is being built that will reshape the southern part of SRC Mladost. Next to the City Pools, a modernly designed public space will be created with an amphitheater, an innovative promenade, and a large parking lot with solar canopies. This project brings new energy and new facilities to citizens of all generations," said Mayor Cividini.

According to information from the construction site, earthworks have already been completed in the area of the future amphitheater and promenade, including excavation, embankment, and site preparation. Reinforced concrete work on the stands is underway, along with preparation of the base for artificial turf and electrical installation work. At the parking lot, foundations for the canopy with solar panels and public lighting have been laid, and work is currently being carried out on stormwater drainage and preparation of the road structure.
