Livno was the center of football nostalgia and children's smiles on Saturday, August 9, 2026. Igor Štimac, the former Croatian national team coach, visited Zlatko Dalić's Football Camp and met with old acquaintances and teammates from the glorious days.
He was joined by Blaž Slišković Baka and Joško Jeličić, football legends with whom he shared memories of their time at Hajduk Split. The gathering was filled not only with reminiscence but also with playtime with the children who enthusiastically participated in the camp.
Štimac did not hide his enthusiasm after the visit. He shared his impressions on social media, highlighting the special atmosphere in Livno.
"Back in our Livno, for the children and their joy. A day filled with play, laughter, and memories of the glorious days of OUR Hajduk," Štimac said.
He had special words of praise for the project organizer, Ivan Jolić, emphasizing his dedication and continuous work on the camp's development.
"All praise goes to Ivan Jolić, who year after year tirelessly develops this project with the support of the city, NK Troglav, and our most successful coach in history, Zlatko Dalić," Štimac wrote.
He also thanked author Ivica Vrgoč for the book, which he believes will be of great use to children, their parents, and coaches in better understanding roles in sports.
The gathering in Livno does not end here. At the end of his post, Štimac announced an exciting new event that will take place early next week.
"See you on Tuesday, Livno, get ready for the 'VATRENI'!" the former coach said.
While legends reminisce about old times, current national team players continue with their club duties. Ivan Perišić, the vice-captain of the Croatian national team, recorded an assist for PSV in the first round of the Dutch league. His club drew 2:2 against Fortuna Sittard in a match played on August 8, which the Croatian Football Federation proudly shared on its Twitter profile along with a photo by Drago Sopta.
