DHMZ and FHMZ BiH have issued forecasts for Thursday and the coming days. The Adriatic will see bura winds that will weaken in the afternoon, while BiH expects sunny weather with temperatures up to 38°C.
Thursday, August 13, 2026, brings sunny and hot weather to most of Croatia, and very hot conditions on the coast, according to the forecast from the State Hydrometeorological Institute (DHMZ). Maximum daily temperatures will range between 27 and 32°C, while along the Adriatic and in the interior of Istria and Dalmatia, they will reach 34 to 39°C.
In Slavonia, Baranja, and Srijem, sunny and hot weather is expected with occasional moderate north and northeast winds. Morning temperatures will be between 16 and 18°C, while the daily high will range from 30 to 32°C. Similar conditions are expected in central Croatia, where sunny weather will prevail with a light northeast wind.
On the northern Adriatic and in Gorski Kotar, it will be mostly sunny, very warm, and hot. In Gorski Kotar and the interior of Istria, moderate cloud cover is expected locally during midday and afternoon hours. Along the coast, moderate to strong bura winds will blow, with gale-force gusts at the foot of Velebit, weakening in the afternoon. Maximum temperatures will be between 27 and 30°C, and along the coast from 32 to 35°C.
Dalmatia will have predominantly sunny and hot weather, with very hot conditions in some places. In the interior, moderate cloud cover is expected in the afternoon and evening. In the morning, moderate to strong bura winds will blow along the coast, shifting to northwest and southwest winds in the afternoon. According to data presented to HRT by Dragoslav Dragojlović, MSc, from DHMZ, morning temperatures will be between 21 and 23°C, along the coast from 25 to 29°C, and the daily highs will mostly range from 32 to 37°C.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, it will also be sunny today, with light to moderate northeast winds. Maximum daily temperatures will mostly be between 28 and 33°C, reaching up to 38°C in the south of the country, according to the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute of BiH (FHMZ BiH). In Sarajevo, sunny weather is expected with a maximum daily temperature around 31°C.
Tomorrow in BiH, it will be sunny with light to moderate east and northeast winds. Morning temperatures will be between 11 and 16°C in most areas, and from 20 to 24°C in the south, while daily highs will mostly be between 28 and 33°C, up to 37°C in the south.
On Saturday, August 15, 2026, BiH will see predominantly sunny weather. Morning temperatures will mostly range from 11 to 16°C, and from 19 to 23°C in the south, with daily highs mostly between 30 and 35°C. Similar weather will continue on Sunday, August 16, with morning temperatures from 12 to 17°C, and from 18 to 23°C in the south, and daily highs between 30 and 36°C.
On Monday, August 17, 2026, BiH will be sunny in the morning, with a moderate increase in cloud cover expected in the second part of the day. There is a possibility of light rain arriving from the west during the night into Tuesday. Minimum morning temperatures will mostly be between 13 and 18°C, up to 22°C in the south, and maximum daily temperatures will mostly range from 31 to 37°C.
According to the DHMZ forecast, the coming days in Croatia will be stable. Inland, it will be mostly sunny with a gradual increase in daily temperatures, while moderate cloud cover will be mainly in mountainous areas. On the Adriatic, it will be sunny and hot with warm nights. On Friday, moderate to strong bura winds will blow at the start, weakening during the day and shifting to southwest and northwest winds, while on Sunday, a moderate jugo (southerly wind) will often blow.
