In a traffic accident that occurred on Saturday, August 9, 2026, at approximately 7:10 PM in Nin, five people were injured. The crash happened when a 21-year-old Czech national, driving a car with Czech license plates, failed to yield the right of way while turning left at the intersection of Virski put, Put Grgura Ninskog, and ŽC-6273.
His vehicle collided with a car bearing Daruvar license plates, driven by a 46-year-old German national. All five injured individuals were transported to Zadar General Hospital, where they received medical treatment.
The most seriously injured was a 49-year-old Croatian citizen, a passenger in the car with Daruvar plates. Doctors diagnosed her with severe physical injuries. A child passenger in the same vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Minor injuries, with the possibility of reclassification, were also sustained by a minor Ukrainian citizen who was in the car with Czech plates. Medical examinations of the 21-year-old Czech driver and another female passenger from his vehicle confirmed they were not injured.
The Zadar Police Department announced that a criminal investigation will be conducted against the 21-year-old Czech national for the criminal offense of causing a traffic accident in road traffic.
