Visitors arriving in Topusko soon will be greeted by a completely transformed spa complex. After decades of anticipation, the largest tourism investment in Sisak-Moslavina County is nearing completion, turning this town, renowned for its healing thermal springs, into a modern year-round destination for health, wellness, family, and conference tourism.

The total value of the renovation of the Topusko Spa complex and the company Top Terme d.o.o. amounts to €43.6 million. Of that amount, €16.2 million has been secured through non-refundable funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, while an additional €240,000 has been allocated from the state budget. The remaining funds are financed from Topusko Spa's own resources.

Renovation Across More Than 35,000 Square Meters

The project, named "Topusko at the Source of Health, Spa and Wellness Tourism in a Sustainable Way," includes the reconstruction and furnishing of Hotel Toplica and the former Health and Recreation Center. Work is taking place on more than 15,000 square meters of interior space and over 20,000 square meters of outdoor areas.

As part of the project, 175 accommodation units with a total of 302 beds are being renovated. Domagoj Mosler, director of Top Terme Topusko, revealed details of the new facilities that will enrich the offering. "Two children's playgrounds, one indoor and one outdoor, two kitchens, and four cafés, three of which will have spacious terraces, are being set up. The pool complex is being modernized with attractions for all generations, contemporary wellness facilities and new conference spaces are being developed, creating conditions for Topusko to be an attractive destination all year round," said Mosler.

New Parking Lot and Landscaping

Ivan Celjak, the prefect of Sisak-Moslavina County, emphasized that the project brings amenities that Topusko has never had before. "Alongside the renovated accommodation capacities, we are developing a new tourism offering that will attract different groups of guests, from those coming for health and relaxation to business users and families. Special attention has been paid to landscaping, with a new parking lot built, partially covered and equipped with an electric vehicle charging station," Celjak pointed out.

The transformation will not only be visible inside the buildings. The renovated green zones, new horticultural solutions, a fountain, and tidy entrances will further enhance the appearance of the entire town and leave a strong impression on every visitor.

A Project Decades in the Making

Prefect Celjak also highlighted the long-term significance of this investment for the entire region. "This project has been awaited in Topusko for decades. With its completion, Topusko and Sisak-Moslavina County will gain a modern health and tourism center that will create new jobs, boost the competitiveness of continental tourism, and stimulate economic development throughout the year," he said.

He noted that Topusko has always been known for its healing thermal water, and now it is repositioning itself as one of the most attractive destinations for continental tourism in Croatia, with the potential to draw visitors from abroad as well.
