The Torcida Split fan group has issued a public invitation to Croatian veterans, their family members, other fan groups, and all citizens to join the march in Knin. The event is organized to mark the 31st anniversary of the Military-Police Operation Storm, as reported by DalmacijaDanas.
Gathering at the barracks at 6 PM
This year's march will take place on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Participants are expected to gather at 6 PM at the parking lot in front of the "Andrija Matijaš Pauk" barracks in Knin, from where the column will set off for the march.
"Let's send a strong message of unity"
In a social media post, Torcida reminded that the march was initiated several years ago on the initiative of Croatian veterans from their ranks. The goal is to pay tribute in a dignified manner to the greatest victory in the Homeland War and to preserve the memory of Croatian veterans.
"Let's send a strong message of unity," they said from Torcida, emphasizing the desire for the memory of Operation Storm and the values for which the veterans fought to remain permanently preserved and passed on to future generations.
Growing turnout year after year
Torcida emphasizes that the march gathers an increasing number of participants each year. According to them, this indicates that solidarity, patriotism, and respect for veterans remain very present among Croatian citizens.
They expressed gratitude to all who have been part of the Operation Storm anniversary celebrations over the years and highlighted their hope that this year's gathering will attract the largest number of participants so far.
