Summary
  • Fuzy Taylor (18) joins Dinamo on loan from Medeama with an option to buy.
  • He played 28 matches for the Ghanaian champions last season and received a call-up to the U-20 national team.
  • The plan is for him to start in the B team, with a long-term view as Josip Mišić's successor in midfield.

Fuzy Taylor, an 18-year-old defensive midfielder from Ghana, is expected to arrive in Zagreb next week and join Dinamo. The club has brought him in on a one-year loan from Medeama, the current Ghanaian champions, with an option to make the move permanent. The plan is for him to initially play for the B team, but in Maksimir he is seen as a long-term solution for Josip Mišić's position.

A project for the future in a key position

Taylor is primarily a holding midfielder, but he can also cover the central midfield role and the right-back position. He stands 174 centimeters tall, is right-footed, and is described at Dinamo as a technically gifted player who handles the ball well and covers a lot of ground. His first destination will be Dinamo B, which competes in the First NL and is managed by Jerko Leko.

Josip Mišić (32) is one of the most important players in the first team and extended his contract last summer until 2029. Taylor is therefore not arriving as an immediate replacement, but rather as an investment for the 2026/27 season and beyond, if he adapts quickly to European football, he could get a chance to train with the senior squad.

A regular starter for Ghana's champions at 17

The young midfielder already has significant senior experience. He joined Medeama from Accra Lions in the summer of 2025 and immediately earned substantial playing time. In the past season, he played 28 league matches and scored one goal, in January 2026 against Young Apostles, when he opened the scoring in the 22nd minute of a 3-0 victory.

His good performances in the domestic league earned him a call-up to Ghana's U-20 national team, known as the Black Satellites, in April. His former club highlighted his intelligence on the ball, creativity, and work ethic, and believed he brings balance to the midfield and is important in the transition from defense to attack.

Interest from Crystal Palace and Göztepe

Before joining Dinamo, Taylor was on the radar of several European clubs. In late April, he was on trial at Turkish top-flight side Göztepe, and shortly after, he received an invitation from Crystal Palace to train in England. GHANAsoccernet reported at the time that the London club had been monitoring his progress and invited him for a trial period during May.

When announcing the transfer, Medeama emphasized that there was interest from multiple clubs and that Taylor was moving to Dinamo to continue his development in European football. "This is a great opportunity for me to develop as a player and compete at a higher level. I look forward to giving my all," Taylor said after the agreement.

Dinamo active in the market and ahead of a historic final

Taylor's arrival is not Dinamo's only acquisition this summer. The club also announced on Saturday the completion of the transfer of Noah Nsoki, a 19-year-old winger who joins Maksimir from PSG. Nsoki won two U19 French championship titles with the Parisian club, as well as last year's senior Ligue 1 title and the Trophée des Champions. He will wear the number 77 jersey at Dinamo.

On Sunday evening, the Blues also face a historic moment, the #Ramljak26 final on the main pitch at Maksimir, the last time before the stadium is demolished. The opponent is AFC Ajax, the match starts at 6:30 PM, and entry is free for all fans. The West Stand lower tier opens at 5:30 PM.
