The cult album "Paket aranžman," a record that left an indelible mark on the history of regional rock, celebrates its 45th anniversary this year. The central celebration will take place in Pula, culminating in a concert at the city's Kaštel fortress on Saturday, August 22, 2026. The same stage will feature Električni orgazam and Nevladina organizacija Vlade Divljana, bringing together musicians whose careers are deeply intertwined with the story of an album that, in the early 1980s, turned the Yugoslav rock scene on its head.

The album was released in February 1981 by Jugoton. It showcased three Belgrade new wave bands at the very start of their careers: Šarlo akrobata, Idoli, and Električni orgazam. The record contains 11 tracks, including enduring hits like "Ona se budi," "Maljčiki," "Amerika," "Krokodili dolaze," "Zlatni papagaj," and "Niko kao ja." The brainchild behind this collaborative release was producer Enco Lesić, who gave the bands access to his studio, Druga Maca, and complete artistic freedom.

A Document of Its Time and the Second-Best Album

"Paket aranžman" was more than just a showcase of new artists. It became a document of a moment and a key record of the energy of the Belgrade new wave scene. Punk, post-punk, reggae, ska, neo-psychedelia, minimalist experiments, pop, and avant-garde sensibilities all converged in one place, with three distinct bands proving that authentic contemporary rock could be created in one's own language, without copying Western models.

Its influence quickly transcended the borders of Belgrade, and over time it achieved cult status, becoming one of the most important albums of the Yugoslav new wave. In the "YU 100: The Best Albums of Yugoslav Rock and Pop Music" list, it ranked an impressive second. Four and a half decades later, part of that story still lives on concert stages.

Električni orgazam as a Quartet with a New Album

Električni orgazam, one of the three bands from the original release, arrives in Pula as a four-piece. It is led by founder and frontman Srđan Gojković Gile, alongside Branislav Petrović Banana, Zoran Radomirović Švaba, and Blagoje Nedeljković Pače. Since the beginning of 2025, the band has been operating as a quartet again, following the departure of keyboardist Ljubomir Đukić.

On "Paket aranžman," they contributed three tracks: "Krokodili dolaze," "Zlatni papagaj," and "Vi." The Pula audience will thus have the opportunity to hear a band that was directly involved in creating one of the most important musical moments of the 1980s, as well as material from over four decades of their career. This year, the band also released a new studio album, "U magli sjaj," their first after an eight-year hiatus, recorded in their current four-piece lineup.

A Symbolic Performance with Vlada Divljan's Songs

The concert program at Kaštel, starting at 9 PM, will open with Nevladina organizacija Vlade Divljana, a band composed of longtime friends and collaborators of the late Idoli frontman. It is led by Zdenko Kolar and Aleksandar Šandorov, with Boris Bunjac, Marko Milivojević, Damjan Dašić, and Marko Ćalić. All of them worked with Vlada Divljan for years and, through joint performances, continue to preserve and perform his music.

At the Pula concert, they will perform songs from various phases of Divljan's career, from Idoli, through his solo work and the Old Stars Band, to Nevladina organizacija and Ljetno kino. Given that Vlada Divljan was one of the key authors and voices of "Paket aranžman," this performance will have a strong symbolic connection to the album's original story.

Exhibition as a Prelude to a Musical Journey

The 45th-anniversary celebration will not be limited to the concert alone. The day before, on August 21 at 7 PM, an exhibition dedicated to the album and its cultural legacy will open at Pula's SKUC. Authors Zorica Kojić and Dragan Ambrozić will use archival materials, photographs, and documents to reconstruct the album's creation and its impact on the new wave and the music scene of that era.

Thus, 45 years after its release, "Paket aranžman" returns to the audience once again, not only as a reminder of a musical era but also as a release whose songs and influence endure. Concert tickets are available through the Entrio system and at their points of sale.
