In the night of August 15-16, 2026, the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out an attack on the Russian enterprise 'Kamensky Combine' in the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky in the Rostov region. According to a statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as reported by Ukrainska Pravda, the destruction of two workshops for the production of explosives and gunpowder was confirmed, along with damage to four others.
Kamensky Combine is an enterprise of the Russian military-industrial complex that produces solid rocket fuel for ammunition of the 'Uragan', 'Smerch', and 'Tornado-S' rocket systems, as well as for a range of other missile systems and aviation assets. The attack is part of a broader Ukrainian effort to weaken Russia's military-industrial capacity.
"Based on the results of the strike on the night of August 16, 2026, on the 'Kamensky Combine' enterprise in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation, the destruction of two and damage to four more workshops for the production of explosives and gunpowder have been confirmed," the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
According to a UNIAN report, a fire was recorded on the enterprise's premises following the strike. The General Staff released information about the attack on August 17, 2026. The Russian side has not yet commented on the attack or released its own data on damages or potential casualties.
This is yet another in a series of Ukrainian attacks on Russian military facilities in border regions. The Rostov region, which borders Ukraine, is a frequent target of Ukrainian long-range strikes due to the concentration of military industry and logistics centers.
