Three Ukrainian nationals are suspected of fraud in Rovinj, where they falsely booked five nights in a villa and paid with a stolen credit card, causing a legal entity damages of several thousand euros.
The criminal investigation by the Rovinj police into two female Ukrainian citizens, aged 63 and 21, and a 23-year-old male Ukrainian citizen has been completed. They are suspected of committing the criminal offense of fraud, as announced on August 13, 2026.
According to information from Istra Terra Magica, the three Ukrainian nationals are suspected of having booked accommodation, specifically five nights in a villa in Rovinj, via a website on July 31, 2025. They used a false identity and made the payment with a stolen card.
This fraud caused damage to a legal entity from Rovinj amounting to several thousand euros. The exact amount of damage was not specified in the sources.
The suspects were brought to the detention unit of the Istrian Police Department on August 12, 2026, at around 5:30 PM. After the completion of the criminal investigation, the Rovinj police established suspicion of the criminal offense of fraud.
