Footage has been released showing drones over the Russian city of Nizhnekamsk in the Republic of Tatarstan. According to information from the Telegram channel Supernova Plus, the target of the attack was an oil refinery in the area. At the same time, in Simferopol, Crimea, parts of the city briefly lost power. The Telegram channel Crimean Wind, which supports Ukraine, reported that residents heard explosions and gunfire during the drone attack.
Ukrainian forces also targeted energy infrastructure in the occupied Donetsk region. The channel Exilenova Plus claims that a fire broke out in a shopping center in the city of Makiivka.
These are just the latest in a series of Ukrainian strikes on Russian military and logistics infrastructure. Just two days earlier, on the night of August 8, Ukrainian forces targeted a launch ramp of an S-400 Triumph air defense system in Russia's Krasnodar Krai. Commander of the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brovdi "Madjar," announced that the attack occurred just hours after the same system had fired missiles at Ukraine.
In the early morning hours of the same day, August 8, Ukraine also attacked two oil refineries. According to the Exilenova Plus channel, a fire broke out at the refinery in Syzran in Samara Oblast, and the Supernova Plus channel adds that the refinery in Ilsky in Krasnodar Krai was hit and set ablaze. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine later officially confirmed that Ukrainian long-range drones struck those two refineries.
