Man crashes press conference and gifts SDP leader toilet paper

The media conference in Poznanovec on Thursday, August 13, 2026, was marked by a bizarre moment: an unidentified man barged into the press conference and gifted SDP president Siniša Hajdaš Dončić a pack of toilet paper. The incident occurred in the middle of a discussion on illegal waste dumps, where, alongside Hajdaš Dončić, Možemo! coordinator Sandra Benčić and Krapina-Zagorje County prefect Željko Kolar were also speaking.

Hajdaš Dončić was just making claims that Prime Minister Andrej Plenković is directly responsible for the problem of illegal dumps in Poznanovec and other Croatian towns. He also spoke about waste disposal in Gospić, calling the system mafia-like and corrupt.

'I have a gift for you'

Just as the SDP leader was asking "who runs the mafia," a man in a blue shirt walked into the conference. He stopped in front of Hajdaš Dončić and began pulling a pack of toilet paper from a canvas bag.

"Wait, let me just finish," Hajdaš Dončić told him, trying to move him out of the frame, but the man didn't budge. "I have a gift for you. No, no, economic growth means a lot to us, and this is a gift for you," he said as he placed the toilet paper on the ground in front of the microphone, then left.

According to Net.hr, the man also added: "I have a gift for you. You also have an eco-friendly bag."

Benčić: 'Thanks, Plenković'

Sandra Benčić briefly reacted to the unusual gift with the words: "Thanks, Plenković." Hajdaš Dončić then said: "Let me just finish, and then you can give me the gift. The man said what he thinks about Plenković."

But the man, from a distance, contradicted him, shouting: "No, I mean you." Before that, Hajdaš Dončić had commented that "the man said what he thinks about Plenković and how much he pays for toilet paper."

The conference was held at noon, and the entire moment was captured on video.
