The summer transfer window has brought yet another big surprise. Serbian international striker Dušan Vlahović is on the verge of signing for Beşiktaş, confirmed renowned transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday. The two parties have reached a verbal agreement, and Vlahović arrives in Turkey as a free agent after leaving Juventus in Turin.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the 26-year-old Vlahović will sign a three-year contract with the black-and-whites from Istanbul, running until June 2029. His medical examination is scheduled to take place soon, after which the transfer will be officially announced.
Vlahović joined Juventus in early 2022 from Fiorentina and has been regarded as one of the most sought-after strikers in Serie A in recent seasons. Although he hasn't managed to establish himself with the consistency expected in Turin, his status as a regular Serbia international and a player with experience in major tournaments makes him a massive signing for the Turkish league.
Aside from Vlahović's move, Tuesday was marked by a series of interesting transfer news. Chelsea officially unveiled Spanish left-back Pep Chavarría, who arrived from Rayo Vallecano for €19 million and signed a contract until 2031. Chavarría (28) has been a regular member of the Madrid club since joining from Zaragoza in 2022.
Barcelona is not giving up on big signings. They are preparing a new €60 million offer for Manchester City midfielder Rodri, while they have already agreed on the transfer of Torres from PSG for €55 million. On the other side of Rome, Roma is on the verge of bringing in 19-year-old Portuguese talent Rodrigo More from Porto. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the clubs are negotiating a loan with an option to buy, and the total value of the deal could reach €50 million.
Things are also interesting across the Channel. Tottenham, as reported by L'Équipe, has seriously set its sights on American international Folarin Balogun from Monaco. The estimated transfer value is around €60 million. Balogun (25), who has a contract with the French club until 2028, scored 19 goals in 45 appearances last season.
Meanwhile, Swansea City is not willing to let Slovenian striker Žan Vipotnik go easily. After rejecting Hull City's €11.7 million offer, the Welsh club has set a price of as much as €23.4 million for their international player.
The transfer window in the English, German, and French leagues opened on June 15, in the Italian and Spanish leagues on July 1, and runs until September 1.
