  • The project was initiated by Miriam Mack, a Croatian and wife of Europa-Park's director, with the aim of promoting Croatia.

The collaboration between Rimac Automobili and the German amusement park Europa-Park marks three years since its launch. The partnership, which began in 2023 with the creation of a new zone dedicated to Croatia, has produced one of the most recognizable attractions in the world of amusement parks, Voltron Nevera Powered by Rimac.

The Steepest Launch Angle in the World

The rollercoaster, opened in 2024 as the park's first major coaster in over a decade, immediately drew attention with its record-breaking features. The steepest launch angle of 105 degrees sets it apart from all other rollercoasters, and it includes four phases of powerful acceleration up to 100 km/h, with one occurring in reverse. On a track of 1,385 meters, riders face seven inversions and experience weightlessness lasting 2.2 seconds.

Set in a designed Croatian landscape with an emphasis on limestone and an 800-year-old olive tree, Voltron Nevera draws inspiration from the town of Hvar, and its backstory celebrates the inventions of Nikola Tesla.

Awards That Confirm Success

In its two years of existence, the attraction has won a series of prestigious accolades. In 2024, it received the Golden Ticket Award for "Best New Rollercoaster in the World" and the European Star Award for "Best New Rollercoaster in Europe." The following year, in 2025, it was followed by the TEA Thea Award 2025 for outstanding achievement in the "Attraction" category.

A Personal Connection to Croatia

The idea for the partnership came from Honorary Consul Miriam Mack, originally from Croatia and wife of Michael Mack, Executive Director of Europa-Park and CEO of Mack One. It was she who wanted to bring the beauty of her homeland closer to the park's guests.

"The collaboration with Mate Rimac and his team fits perfectly into our vision. For Europa-Park, it is important to build equal partnerships, which is why we are especially looking forward to this collaboration. It also connects a new generation of entrepreneurs who think outside the box. We are united by an entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for speed, and a particularly strong connection to Croatia. My wife Miriam comes from Croatia, and she was the key inspiration in shaping this themed area. The fact that our partner in this project also comes from Croatia makes me particularly proud," said Michael Mack.

Mate Rimac, founder and president of the Rimac Group, emphasized the dual value of this project. "The Rimac Group is primarily focused on creating world-class cars and technologies, but promoting Croatia in the world has always been important to us. The collaboration with Europa-Park has delivered results in both areas, every day, thousands of visitors get to know our technology, as well as the history and beauty of Croatia," said Rimac.
