Straight to Jail Without License and Registration

The first case occurred at 9:30 AM in the town of Otavice, where police stopped a 43-year-old driver of a truck. A quick check revealed that the vehicle had no license plates at all, and more seriously, the driver got behind the wheel despite having his driver's license previously revoked.

The reckless driver was immediately arrested and placed in police custody. Due to the committed offenses, he was brought before the Misdemeanor Department of the Municipal Court in Šibenik with a criminal complaint on Monday. The police proposed a 60-day prison sentence and a fine of 920 euros. The judge accepted the proposal and ordered his detention for 14 days, after which he was transferred to the prison in Šibenik.

Drunk Driving in Primošten

Just over two hours later, at 11:50 AM, police stopped a passenger vehicle with Zadar license plates in Primošten. Behind the wheel was a 44-year-old man whose blood alcohol concentration was measured at 0.79 g/kg.

The driver was immediately removed from traffic and placed in police custody where he was held until the effects of alcohol wore off. A mandatory misdemeanor order was filed against him with a fine of 673.89 euros. In addition to the fine, he was also issued a protective measure banning him from driving a B-category motor vehicle for six months.
