A 60-year-old motorcyclist sustained severe injuries after a collision with a forage harvester on road D34 in Medinci, with traffic fully halted for over four hours due to the investigation.
A serious traffic accident occurred yesterday, August 10, 2026, at approximately 2:45 PM in Medinci, on state road D34. A 36-year-old driver, operating a forage harvester with an attached empty two-axle trailer, was entering traffic from the vehicle bridge located in front of the address Antuna Mihanovića Street 3, and in doing so failed to yield the right of way to a motorcycle ridden by a 60-year-old man.
Subsequently, the motorcyclist collided with the left side of the header, i.e., the corn adapter, located at the front of the agricultural machine. The forage harvester driver was not injured, but the motorcyclist sustained severe physical injuries and was airlifted by the Emergency Medical Service helicopter to the Osijek University Hospital Center.
The police measured a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 g/kg, or 0.08 promille, in the 36-year-old forage harvester driver. Blood and urine samples were taken for further analysis. Police officers are continuing the criminal investigation to determine all circumstances of the accident.
Due to the on-site investigation, traffic on state road D34 was completely halted from 3:06 PM to 7:08 PM. During this time, traffic was diverted to alternative routes.
