From the Brod-Posavina Police Department, we learn that on August 16, 2026, at around 2 p.m., a traffic accident occurred in the town of Dragalić, in which a 53-year-old motorcyclist sustained serious injuries. The police investigation determined that the driver, aged 53, had not fully raised the left footpeg on the motorcycle before setting off.
Footpeg Scraped the Road, Driver Lost Control
While riding through a curve, the footpeg began to scrape along the road, causing the motorcyclist to lose control of the handlebars and veer off the road. He then collided with a concrete driveway entrance on his motorcycle.
The police also established that he was not wearing a protective helmet during the ride, which further increased the risk of serious injury upon impact.
Hospitalized in Nova Gradiška
In the traffic accident, the 53-year-old was seriously injured. He received medical attention at the Nova Gradiška hospital, where he remained for treatment, and his injuries were classified as severe bodily harm.
Samples were taken from the driver to determine the possible presence of alcohol in his blood. Once the results are available, the police will file an appropriate report against him with the competent court.
