More than 135 teams will compete for the prestigious trophy and a chance to be part of a humanitarian story, with the jubilee edition also featuring a grand concert at the finals.
Today at 6:30 PM, the 10th Antonio Jurjević Memorial Humanitarian Tournament officially kicks off at the outdoor courts of the Višnjik Sports Center, starting with the draw and closing of registrations. Teams that haven't yet signed up have only a few hours left to enter the draw and seize the opportunity to become part of the largest small-sided football spectacle in Zadar County.
According to organizers, 135 teams have already registered, although 023.hr reports that the number has already surpassed that figure. It's well known that the biggest wave of registrations happens right in the final minutes before the draw, so the final number of participants is expected to be even higher.
This year's competition will again feature three categories: seniors, veterans, and children. The senior division will be played in a dynamic futsal format of 4+1, while the veteran division is reserved for players born in 1987 or earlier, who will compete in a 5+1 system. All matches are scheduled daily starting at 7 PM.
The tournament officially begins on August 11, 2026, and will last more than two weeks, turning the coastal court at Višnjik into the heart of local sports, community spirit, and charity. The organizer, the Antonio Jurjević Humanitarian Association, has also announced a accompanying humanitarian campaign, details of which will be shared with the public soon.
The jubilee, tenth edition of the tournament brings a special surprise. The finals will be marked by a grand concert, conceived as a token of gratitude to all those who have supported the association's work over the years and kept the memory of Antonio Jurjević alive.
"We are immensely looking forward to the tenth edition of our tournament! Every year, we strive to make a step forward, adding something new, something better, and we believe this year's program will prove that. We are especially pleased that the tournament finals will feature a grand concert, as an additional sign of gratitude to all our supporters," said Bruna Kutija, president of the Antonio Jurjević Humanitarian Association, for Zadarski list.
The organizers have also issued a clear appeal to all participants for fair play and sportsmanship. Given the tournament's humanitarian nature, they emphasize that there is no room for unsportsmanlike conduct. Any incident or violation of the rules will be met with the harshest measure, immediate disqualification of the team from the rest of the competition.
