Tonight, August 19, 2026, at 9:30 PM, the Zagreb Philharmonic will perform in front of Dubrovnik Cathedral under the baton of renowned conductor Dawid Runtz, as reported by Dubrovnik Portal. The performance is part of the 77th Dubrovnik Summer Festival, and the program is sponsored by Janaf.
The evening will open with Mambo from Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story, followed by George Gershwin's An American in Paris. After that, the American musical style will be fused with Croatian heritage through Jakov Gotovac's Symphonic Kolo, Op. 12. The concert will conclude with Igor Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring, one of the most innovative works of the 20th century.
Dawid Runtz has been the chief conductor of the Zagreb Philharmonic since 2021, and from January 2026, he will also take on the role of chief conductor of the Sinfonieorchester Liechtenstein. His leadership of the orchestra is characterized by precisely defined interpretations, a strong dramatic sense, and the skill to achieve a powerful orchestral sound.

As a promoter of musical art throughout the country and a cultural representative of Croatia abroad, it showcases Croatian musical excellence on both domestic and international stages through its concerts.
Tickets for the 77th Dubrovnik Summer Festival programs can be purchased online at the festival's official website www.dubrovnik-festival.hr, via www.ulaznice.hr, and at Lapad Bay every day from 6 PM to 8 PM. Festival tickets and souvenirs are also available at the box office on the ground floor of the Festival Palace (Od Sigurate 1), which is open on weekdays from 9 AM to 9:30 PM, and at the pop-up boutique on Vukovarska Street from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM.
Paying with a Mastercard offers a 10% discount, and for purchases over €70, payment can be made in 2 or 3 installments. Residents of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County are entitled to a 30% discount on all performances upon presentation of an ID card, but only when purchasing at local Dubrovnik Summer Festival sales points. An additional 10% discount is available if they pay with a Mastercard, making a total discount of 40%.
