Women's football has come alive again in Križevci. Players from the Women's Football Club Radnik Koprivnica trained on Wednesday at the City Stadium in Križevci, following a successful football camp for girls. Club president and coach Nikolina Nottersberg explained why the club has returned to this city.

The Potential of the Križevci Region

Nottersberg says they are back in Križevci for two reasons: on one hand, they have adequate working conditions, and on the other, a considerable number of girls come from the Križevci area. "The Križevci region is known for having had the Women's Football Club Plamen Križevci, led by Dragica Slavečki, and I personally ended my career at Plamen Križevci," Nottersberg told Prigorski.

She added that the potential in this area is strong, broad, and significant. "Simply put, girls have become passionate about women's football, and for that reason, we decided to bring the club closer to them and enable them to have at least one training session per week right here in Križevci. I think it's really fair that we, as a club, go to the girls, rather than them coming to us," she emphasized.

Open Doors for All Girls

The minimum age to start training is 6 years old, but as Nottersberg says, the doors are not closed even for five-year-olds. "The doors are open to all girls aged 6 to 10, where they would compete at the county level, while from 11 and up, we currently have no upper age limit. So, anyone who feels they can train is welcome," she explained.

The president also mentioned the desire to build container changing rooms in the future so that girls, as well as women at a higher level, would have adequate facilities.

Support from Leaders and Sponsors

The club is entering its 11th year of existence, and results season after season are not lacking. Nottersberg thanks the enormous support from the leadership, primarily Koprivnica Mayor Mišel Jakšić and County Prefect Tomislav Golubić. "From the very beginning, Robert Markulin and Josip Mađarić have been there," she pointed out.

They also owe a special breakthrough to the chairman of the board of Radnik d.d., Mirko Habijanec, who without any hesitation accepted the general sponsorship of the club. "And there you have it, basically, everything is easy when you have good people around you," she said.

Finally, she said that they feel at home in Križevci. "The guys and the management really go out of their way for us. They are all at our disposal, available for any needs," Nottersberg concluded.
