The young footballer, seen by Juventus as a great prospect for the future, will have to wait for his first appearance in the black and white jersey.
Juventus fans will have to be patient a little longer before seeing the young player with a Croatian surname, Alajbegović, in action. According to Italian media reports, he will not feature in tomorrow's friendly against Chelsea, scheduled for August 5, 2026, at 1:30 PM local time.
The reason for his absence is not an injury but the coaching staff's planned approach. Alajbegović, who recently joined the Turin club's preparations during their Asian tour, is currently undergoing an individualized fitness program. The goal is to gradually bring new signings to optimal physical condition and ensure they grasp tactical ideas without risking muscle injuries at the start of pre-season.
Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti did not hide his satisfaction with the club's management and specifically spoke about young Alajbegović, whom he sees as a key part of the club's future.
"It's clear that the arrival of players who bring new energy and enthusiasm is always a great advantage for the team. These are players we know well because we've been following them," Spalletti stated.
The Italian tactician then revealed whose idea it was to bring in this young talent.
"Alajbegović is still young, but he's a player with exceptional promise and great potential. He was a big desire of our sporting director, Frederic Massara; it was entirely his idea, as he had been closely monitoring him since last year," Spalletti said.
In addition to Alajbegović, Spalletti also commented on French forward Randal Kolo Muani. He emphasized that the dressing room is delighted with his human qualities, while his playing abilities are well known from his stints at clubs like PSG and Tottenham.
Juventus now faces a period of integrating new players into the team's balance. Alajbegović will look for his debut in the black and white jersey in one of the upcoming friendlies, once the coaching staff deems him ready.
