Serbian White Hat Hacker Suspected in Cyberattacks

Croatian police last week detained a 33-year-old Serbian citizen suspected of a series of serious intrusions into the computer systems of domestic institutions and companies. As journalist Ana Raić learned for Index.hr, the suspect is Georgije V., owner of the cybersecurity firm Elite Security Systems from Novi Sad.
The suspect allegedly operated as part of the so-called INF Group, or at least presented himself as such. His alleged attacks targeted numerous Croatian systems, including ministries, GNK Dinamo, and public institutions such as HZZO, HZMO, Hakom, and Regos.
What makes this case particularly intriguing is the dual nature of the suspect's career. His company, Elite Security Systems, registered in 2022, officially engages in penetration testing, identifying security vulnerabilities, and simulating cyberattacks. According to his LinkedIn profile, just two months ago, Georgije V. received official recognition from Red Hat for uncovering a serious security flaw in Keycloak services, identified as CVE-2026-4366.
This flaw, classified as Server-Side Request Forgery, posed a significant threat, and its discovery earned him a reputation as an ethical, or white hat, hacker. Now, however, he is charged with serious criminal offenses against computer systems, programs, and data, as well as unauthorized use of personal data.
This is not the first time the suspect has been in police custody. Back in 2012, he was arrested in Serbia on suspicion of being responsible, as a member of several hacker groups, for intrusions into computer systems and denial-of-service attacks against the Serbian government, parliamentary parties, academic institutions, and local businesses.
In Croatia, he was arrested about ten days ago, after arriving on vacation with his family. During the arrest, police seized two mobile phones and a laptop, which are likely to serve as key evidence in the ongoing investigation.
