Bayern's manager firmly denies Real Madrid's interest in the French winger, and briefly comments on his star's personal issues.
Bayern's manager Vincent Kompany, at a press conference on Wednesday, August 6, 2026, firmly responded to all rumors about Michael Olise's potential departure from the club this summer. After reports emerged that Real Madrid had seriously set their sights on the French winger, Kompany was clear.
"This topic was never raised with me," stated Kompany, as quoted by Goal.com. Football insider Fabrizio Romano also shared Kompany's message on his Telegram channel, quoting him: "The topic was never opened for me." The post gathered over 374,000 views in just a few hours.
The interest from the Spanish giants is not surprising given that Olise was one of Bayern's best players last season, leading the Bavarians to a domestic treble and the Champions League semifinals. Additional fuel for the rumors came from his brilliant performances at the 2026 World Cup, where he led France to a fourth-place finish with a record seven assists.
Kompany also faced questions at the press conference about his player's personal life, specifically regarding a child support dispute involving Olise's daughter and his ex-girlfriend Fatma Zonbrisher. The Belgian tactician had no patience for that topic.
"Private life remains private. It's none of your business. He's on vacation now and deserves it," Kompany said, as reported by Foot Mercato.
It's clear that Bayern has no plans to lose one of their biggest stars, and Kompany's sharp responses sent an unequivocal message to both Real Madrid and the football public.
