To ensure that mail continues to arrive without interruption, the mailboxes have been moved from the building's common area near Tomislavac and temporarily placed on the exterior of the building during the works. According to available data, some residents received financial assistance for temporary housing last year precisely because of the renovation.

Three Billion Euros for Zagreb's Reconstruction

The Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets reported that nearly 3 billion euros have been invested so far in the post-earthquake reconstruction in the Zagreb area. More than 700 construction sites have been opened across the city, and work has been completed at two-thirds of the locations, that is, at 4,500 of them.

Minister Branko Bačić stated two weeks ago that all replacement family houses will be completed by the end of next year, and the renovation of all public buildings in the Zagreb and Petrinja areas should be finished by the end of this year.

"When it comes to new replacement family houses, in the City of Zagreb there are 13 left to complete, 40 are under construction, and 13 are in the procurement process," said Bačić.

The situation at Šenoina 12 is thus just one of many temporary inconveniences faced by citizens whose buildings are undergoing necessary renovation after the devastating earthquake.
