The Association of Anti-Fascist Fighter and Anti-Fascist Organizations (ZUABA) of Šibenik-Knin County filed a criminal complaint on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, with the Municipal State Attorney's Office in Šibenik. The complaint is directed against Infinite Show, the organizer of the concert by Marko Perković Thompson, and currently unknown contractors, on suspicion of the criminal offense of damaging and destroying cultural property.

The anti-fascists claim that in the days before the concert, held on August 4 at the Šubićevac Stadium, illegal construction and horticultural works were carried out within the protected Šubićevac Memorial Park. This area is listed in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under number Z-2019.

Cited Tree Cutting and Fence Breach

In the criminal complaint, ZUABA states that the organizer, without prior approval from the competent authorities and without establishing the necessary corridors, carried out unauthorized cutting of a large number of trees and native vegetation. Additionally, the fence of the protected memorial complex was breached.

"In the days preceding the concert by Marko Perković Thompson at the Šubićevac Stadium, within the protected immovable cultural property - the Šubićevac Memorial Park (listed in the Register of Cultural Goods under number Z-2019) - illegal construction and horticultural works were carried out. The organizer, without prior establishment of commercial and control corridors, and without approval from the competent authorities, carried out unauthorized cutting of a large number of trees and native vegetation, as well as breaching the fence of the protected memorial complex," the complaint states.

ZUABA assessed that this constitutes "a conscious and deliberate devastation of a protected cultural property of the Republic of Croatia for the purpose of achieving economic gain." They add that the fact that the area was superficially cleaned after the concert "does not diminish the permanent damage inflicted on the protected greenery and the historical integrity of the memorial area."

Demand to Determine the Exact Number of Felled Trees

The anti-fascist association's complaint calls for concrete steps by the competent institutions. "We demand that the police, in cooperation with the Conservation Department, seize official records, determine the exact number of felled trees, and forward the criminal complaint to the competent state attorney's office," they stated. The criminal complaint was filed due to reasonable suspicion of the offense under Article 319 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to damaging and destroying cultural property.

Conservators Warned Before the Concert

The Conservation Department in Šibenik had already reacted before the concert. The head of the regional Conservation Service, Angela Bujas, warned about the value and protected status of the Park of the Executed.

"We note that the Park of the Executed, whose construction began in 1962, represents a valuable modernist achievement by sculptor Kosta Angelija Radovani and architect Zdenko Kolacio, and as such is protected by a decision of the Ministry of Culture. In accordance with the Law on the Protection and Preservation of Cultural Goods, all works on cultural property may only be undertaken with the approval of the conservation service," Bujas stated.

She added that the City of Šibenik was asked to respond to the placement of mobile structures and their removal, while the event organizer was issued a decision to halt the installation of structures within the memorial complex of the Park of the Executed. Further measures within its jurisdiction, she announced, will be taken by the Conservation Department depending on the responses from the owner and the organizer.
