The animated feature film "Kristalni planet" (Crystal Planet) by director and producer Arsen Anton Ostojić has received a music video for its new song. Performed by Franka Batelić under the title "Gdje ljubav čeka nas" (Where Love Awaits Us), it is the Croatian version of the track "Somewhere We All Belong", with music and lyrics by American songwriter Diane Warren, as reported by ePodravina.
A significant contribution to the project was made by Koprivnica-born composer Dalibor Grubačević, who worked with Lana Blaće on the Croatian adaptation and also produced the vocal performance.
Dalibor Grubačević belongs to the circle of prominent Croatian film music composers. Born in Koprivnica, where he spent his childhood and completed his education, this composer, arranger, and producer began his career in the pop-rock group The Bugs, inspired by the Beatles, with whom he recorded a studio album in the early 1990s. Toward the end of that decade, he turned to classical composition and studied privately under Professor Natalija Imbrišak.
Today, he is most associated with music for film and television projects. He collaborates with the Zagreb Soloists, with whom he released a joint vinyl under Aquarius Records, as well as with the Zagreb Philharmonic and the Simphony Orchestra of Croatian Radiotelevision.
He has received several awards for his work. He won a Porin for Best Album for Theater, Film, and/or TV in 2013 for the soundtrack U potrazi za Markom Polom (In Search of Marco Polo), and at the 19th Croatian Film Days, he received the first prize for Best Film Music for the film Zajedno (Together).
Franka Batelić told Večernji list that she was drawn to participate by the fact that it is a domestic animated project with a story that speaks not only to children. The song deals with belonging, or the search for a place where one feels accepted and loved, which is also one of the film's key themes.
The film has already completed part of its festival journey. Its international premiere was held at the Zlín Film Festival, and its Croatian premiere at the Pula Film Festival, where it won the Special Golden Arena for contribution to Croatian animation. At the Brač Film Festival, it received the audience award, and afterward, it was released in cinemas in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
