Koprivnica-Križevci County Prefect Tomislav Golubić visited the mobile clinic in Sirova Katalena on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. He was accompanied by Aldijana Matić Horvat, Head of the Prefect's Office Service, Đenis Sambol, Assistant Head of the Office, and Željka Fruk, Director of the County Health Center, while Fabijan Muršić, a physician, leads the mobile clinic team.
The mobile clinics are part of a project by the Ministry of Health, and two have been secured for the Koprivnica-Križevci County area, in cooperation with the County and the County Health Center. The area they cover stretches from Legrad to Podravske Sesvete and Kloštar Podravski, and from Križevci and its surroundings all the way to Rasinja.
The clinics are primarily intended for the elderly, patients with reduced mobility, and residents without transportation. They are equipped to provide nearly all services available in a standard clinic: examinations, prescriptions, referrals, basic diagnostics, and monitoring of chronic patients. The project's aim is to make the healthcare system accessible to the patient, rather than the other way around, with mobile clinics designed as a support to the system, not a replacement for chosen physicians, as reported by the county administration.
During the visit, the Prefect spoke with patients waiting their turn. They emphasized how much they value having healthcare services available in their own community and the ability to undergo all examinations without traveling dozens of kilometers to the Health Center.
Expressing satisfaction with the progress of the project focused on primary healthcare, the Prefect noted that nearly all municipalities have joined in, and that the mobile clinic system is evolving according to patients' needs on the ground. He stressed that introducing mobile clinics represents a significant step forward in bringing healthcare closer to all citizens, regardless of where they live.
Director Fruk highlighted that the mobile clinics began operating in the last week of June 2026. With a permanently employed physician in one team, there are plans to permanently hire a doctor for the second team starting in September. She invited citizens to follow the schedules and stay informed about when the mobile clinic will visit their community to make the most of the doctor's availability.
She also announced preventive programs for the fall, when specific times and locations will be designated each week for blood pressure, blood sugar, and other health checks. The mobile clinic operates according to pre-planned routes, which are published and regularly updated on the County Health Center's website.
Through the introduction of mobile clinics, considered an extended arm of family medicine physicians, the goal is to achieve more equitable access to healthcare services for all citizens, reduce the need for travel, and further ease the existing healthcare system.
