Dubrovnik will host one of the biggest names in the world music scene at the end of August. Legendary tenor José Carreras will perform on August 27, 2026, at 9:30 PM in front of Dubrovnik Cathedral, announced Mayor Mato Franković on social media on Thursday, as reported by Dubrovniknet.
Joining Carreras on stage will be soprano Dušica Bijelić and the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor David Giménez. Tickets for this special musical spectacle go on sale next week.
Mayor Franković highlighted the importance of this event for promoting Dubrovnik as a premier musical destination.
"The arrival of José Carreras is a continuation of our strong promotion of Dubrovnik as a top-tier musical and ambient space where the world's biggest stars perform. The historic backdrop of our City and world-class music will once again come together for an unforgettable evening," Franković wrote on social media.
Dulist reports that this will be a special musical event in the historic core, certain to attract numerous classical music enthusiasts.
Carreras is known to global audiences as a member of the legendary trio The Three Tenors, alongside Luciano Pavarotti and Plácido Domingo. His career has spanned decades on the international stage, performing at the world's most prestigious venues.
Dubrovnik Cathedral thus becomes the stage for yet another giant of the world music scene, at one of the City's most attractive concert locations.
