The Classical Gymnasium in Dubrovnik attracted students with the highest average score, and gymnasium programs dominate the top ten most sought-after programs, with only one vocational track.
According to data from the Ministry of Education published on August 9, 2026, the best eighth graders in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County gave priority to gymnasium programs. At the top of the list is the Classical Gymnasium of the Ruđer Bošković Diocesan Classical Gymnasium with public rights in Dubrovnik, whose enrolled students achieved an average of 77.77 points.
The score range in this prestigious gymnasium spanned from 73.16, which was the score of the last enrolled student, to 81.85 points, the best result on the ranking list. This confirmed the school's status as one of the most desirable secondary education destinations in southern Croatia.
Second place went to the general gymnasium of the Petar Šegedin Secondary School in Korčula. The average score of enrolled students was 76.16 points. Interestingly, this school recorded the highest individual score among all programs, 83 points, while the last student on the list had 58.4 points.
In third place is the science and math track of the Dubrovnik Gymnasium. Enrolled students had an average of 75.74 points, with the best score of 81 points and a threshold of 68.29 points for the last admitted student.
Looking at the representation of different tracks among the top ten, the Dubrovnik Gymnasium leads. Its programs, science and math, general, and language gymnasium, secured three spots on the list. The Metković Gymnasium offers two educational programs: general and science and math gymnasium.
Although the absolute majority of the list consists of gymnasium programs, one vocational track managed to break into the top ten. The electronics and communications technician program, conducted at the Maritime-Technical School in Dubrovnik, proves that quality vocational education still attracts motivated students.
