Lidl Croatia on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, recalled Milbona High Protein Pudding Chocolate, 200-gram packaging, from its stores. The reason is the detection of the bacterium Bacillus cereus in the product, as announced by the Croatian Agency for Agriculture and Food (HAPIH). The recall applies exclusively to the product with a best-before date of September 14, 2026.
The State Inspectorate confirmed that the product does not meet the requirements set out in Regulation (EC) No. 178/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 January 2002, which lays down the general principles and requirements of food law and establishes the European Food Safety Authority.
Bacillus cereus is a bacterium that can cause food poisoning, and its presence in ready-to-eat food products is not permitted under European food safety standards. As a result, the product has been withdrawn from sale.
The supplier of the disputed pudding is the German company Fude + Serrahn Milchprodukte GmbH & Co. KG. Lidl Croatia states that the product can be returned to any of their stores, and customers will receive a refund regardless of whether they have a receipt.
The recall notice applies exclusively to the specified product with the above details, and consumers who have purchased it are urged not to consume it.
