Police received a report on the evening of August 6 about a body in a family home. A person with the same initials has been arrested, but sources differ on their gender.
A lifeless body of a man with a visible gunshot wound was found in a family home in the Bosanska Krupa area on Thursday, August 6, 2026. The Ministry of Interior of the Una-Sana Canton (MUP USK) confirmed that one person has been arrested in connection with this case, and according to unofficial information from Klix.ba, this is a murder of a husband.
MUP USK spokesperson Mumo Grahović stated that a police patrol received the report around 10:30 PM. "The police patrol arrived and found the male victim lying there, and they determined he was the owner of the house," MUP's words were reported. The duty prosecutor and an investigation team immediately arrived at the scene and conducted an on-site investigation.
According to available information, the victim is the owner of the house with the initials Š.H., born in 1962. "He was lying motionless with a visible gunshot wound," Grahović told Radiosarajevo.ba. After collecting traces and evidence, a person with the same initials, Š.H., born in 1960, was deprived of liberty.
Interestingly, reports on the gender of the suspect differ. While Klix.ba, citing MUP USK, states that "she committed" the criminal offense and that "she will undergo" criminal processing, Kurir.rs reports Grahović's words in the masculine gender: "Due to suspicion that he committed this murder, Š.H. (1960) was arrested." This discrepancy in reporting has not yet been clarified.
"There is a reasonable suspicion that she committed the criminal offense of murder. She will undergo criminal processing and will be handed over to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office," MUP USK announced for Klix.ba.
The suspect is currently in police premises where criminal processing is being conducted. After the processing is completed, they will be handed over to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Una-Sana Canton, which will decide on further steps in the procedure. The motive for this tragic event has not been officially announced yet.
